9 page article in the New Yorker magazine, Aug 30th issue |
I just returned from the 5th Annual Laughter Yoga conference in Albuquerque New Mexico, where we were told about this 9 page article on Dr. Kataria in the August 30th issue of the New Yorker. This is incredible publicity for laughter yoga and also, as The New Yorker is a prestigious magazine, it further provides validity for Laughter Yoga. We could not get it in Albuquerque, but I was able to find it at a Hudson news stand at the airport - I should have bought more copies! It is a weekly magazine so it may not be available any more, but do call around and see if you can find some. There is also a 3 minute video posted by the author as mentioned below.

Last laughter celebration in the park |
We started our club on Wednesday August 3, 2005, but now meet on Tuesdays, so when August 3rd turned out to be on a Tuesday this year, I wanted to celebrate with some laughter in the park, since we don't have regular indoor sessions in the summer. We will be having our official celebration when we start our laughter season at the Seniors Centre on Sept 7. This was our 3rd time laughing outdoors and each time the weather prediction was for rain and stormy weather, and it did not rain!

I love celebrating my birthday |
I came home on July 19th after celebrating my birthday on Manitoulin Island with a friend and her family, and listening to the Crystal Journey concerts. It was my first time visiting the island and I enjoyed the weekend greatly - we had a lovely quiet spot by a lake. We checked out some of the art tour and walked the labyrinth in the rain ... plus the concerts were awesome. I love celebrating my birthday because since I started laughter yoga, I am getting younger every year ... heeheehee ...

Laughter Yoga Gave Me My Mission – Empowerment Through Laughter |
Gaga Barnes: My true nature is playful and I laugh easily. Yet, since my high school years, I became serious. I squished my joy and laughter inside and shared it only with people very close to me.
I found out about the laughter movement in September 2006 from my friend Sarito Sun. I attended her Laughter meditation class and laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my cheeks and my belly ached. Instantly, I knew this was exactly the right path for me – being free to express joy and playfulness through laughter. A few days later, I participated in the First Laughter Yoga Conference and CLYL training after which I started my Laughter Yoga Club and also launched Laughter Yoga On The Phone.
